About Dr. Tanya Hudson

hudson-family.jpgMy desire to help people began at a very young age. On the playground in Beaverton where I grew up, I was always the first one to run and get a band-aid when someone was hurt. As I grew up, my passion to help continued, and I began to recognize that I liked the idea of being a small town doctor, who could take the time to get to know her patients, and give them the complete care that they needed. This led me to major in Biology and Pre-Medicine at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, where I graduated in 1998.

It wasn’t until the year 2000, when I visited my first Naturopathic Doctor (ND) that I fell in love with this form of medicine. At the visit, all aspects of my life were discussed, including support from friends and family, my job, schooling, stress level, diet, and hobbies.  My ND offered me non-drug, natural treatments while also educating me as to how my body worked and why the natural options would help.  I felt excited and empowered after the visit and knew this was the career path for me. I wanted to give the same detailed, natural care to my patients.

This decision led me to medical school at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, where I graduated in 2005. Following shortly after was the exciting start of my practice, Hudson Naturopathic Clinic. It is here that I am able to put into practice how deeply I care about people’s experience seeing a doctor, and focus on research in my area of specialty, which includes depression, anxiety, and attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder.

Whether my patient is an adult or a young child, I want them to feel at ease and comfortable when working with me.  Our relationship should be a positive experience, both exciting and motivating.

When I’m not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my two boys, ages 3 and 5; hiking; gardening, jogging and traveling with my family, especially to the Oregon coast where I can be with one of my great loves - the ocean!
